With Ismérie, we talked about everything except hair.
And yet hair is her passion.
As she likes to define herself, she is a «hair lover» — a lover of hair.

In an interview filled with her sincerity, humour and humility, she tells us in particular how she was caught up by her destiny, how she started out in hairdressing before founding her eponymous salon @atelier_ismerie 10 years ago, her entrepreneurial struggles and her management mistakes.

What fascinates me about Ismérie is her agility — her flexibility, her ability to listen to those around her and her team, to question herself and learn from her mistakes, to make decisions quickly and to dare.
And her ability to connect. What appeals to her clientele, which has become her community, is obviously her talent and sense of service, but it is also a relaxed, natural and accessible style.

Je connais Fabien depuis plus de 20 ans, à l’époque où il était graphiste.
Nous avons collaboré sur un projet et nous avons maintenu le lien — parce que c’est quelque chose que j’aime faire, bien sûr, mais surtout parce que j’ai toujours apprécié son esprit entrepreneurial.
Lui qui même en intégrant une école d’art, ne savait pas ce qu’il allait faire plus tard, avait juste une vision assez large de son avenir :
– se lever quand il voulait ;
– ne pas travailler pour un patron ;
– et habiter dans un loft.
Aujourd’hui c’est le cas.
Propriétaire de UNSEEN, une boutique vintage à Bruxelles, mais aussi designer, menuisier…
c’est clairement impossible de le définir en un seul mot car il a justement développé et déployé de nombreuses compétences.
Et c’est assez fascinant de voir à quel point ce multi-potentiel a besoin de se libérer des chaînes qu’une compétence inclut, pour s’autoriser à ne pas exercer un seul métier. Ne pas se limiter. Et c’est justement à la source de tout ce qu’il entreprend.
